The Galgoes from Hellish Spain!

Dear all. In just two days hell begins for the galgoes in Spain. They are used for hunting and hare coursing. If they do not live up to the owners expectations they are tortured to death sometimes beaten for days on end sometimes they are hung low from a tree with hind paws just touching the ground this method is known as the "piano player or the secretary because of the scrabbeling noise made by the frantic galgoes nails on the hard ground in this state he is left sometimes a galgo can survive for a day or two before he sucumbs and hangs himself. This is but one of the ways these hunters get rid of their galgoes. Some galgoes are abandoned or tied to the gates of a shelter somewhere. These are the lucky ones because they might get the help they need others are turned into the municipal shelters( known by a more sinister name killing station) this is what will happen to these poor souls they may have horrific injuries yet they get no help. They linger there for fourteen days without a vets care or pain relief. Then when their time is up they are put down in the Spanish way. Which is an injection of a muscel relaxent. This "humane death" takes anything from forty to fortyfive minutes before the dog in question dies from asfixiation mind you they are concious throughout the entire process. So even if this is considered humane it is anything but. So why am I telling you this. Simply put this kind of mistreatment has to stop the Spaniards seem incapabel of that themselves which is understandabel considering just how many thousands of galgoes are discarded anually. we are talking about vast numbers namely between 50-100 thousand of galgoes and these are the ones we know about then there is likely twice as many as that going through hell just because they are born as galgoes. These gentle sighthounds need our voice and if any of you would like to do more you can contact me and I can give you the details of how you can make a huge diffrence for these poor sighthounds. None of them deserve to be burnt alive thrown into deep wells hung ect ect. Google the galgoes and you will see why I am so upset over this state of affairs.

Too cheap and at times exported to hell on earth!

You might well ask why bother?. I have an answer for that because it matters. To make a diffrence every day makes life worth living.I have chosen my road and picked my fight. I alert others to the plight of racing greyhounds it has become an International shame the way these royal sight hounds are maltreated forced to race till they slow down or are euthanised because of the injuries they get on the tracks the world over. There is a problem with overbreeding. Every greyhound breeder want´s the next champion or Derby winner just like with horses. However the question is what happens to the rest of the greyhounds those deemed too slow to race? well there are as many ways to get rid of these surplus to requirements greyhounds as there are breeders and unscroupulous owners trainers and breeders. Only one greyhound out of a litter of six will ever have a racing career. What happens to the other five. Well some are weeded out long before they ever reach the trials if their preydrive is lacking they are discarded as cheap trash. The ways that are used to get rid of these neglected greyhounds are many. Some are abandoned some have their ears hacked of because their id ear tatooes can tell anyone who they are and who they belong to. When they are discarded. some are hanged or shot with a captive bolt gun. Then the greyhounds that slow down are sold at Auctions some of those can be had cheaply. Some are exported to places like Spain(the lack of care and cruelty to animals within Spain makes it seem like a third world country) Mahatma Ghandi said "You can judge a nation by the way they treat their weakest link" in this case the animals.Other third world countries for racing and breeding. Their fates are as sad as there are many not very many live to a ripe old age they are starved beaten and finally hung burnt alive or tortured to death. This is what I and others want to prevent. None of us wants these poor greyhounds to be exported to their deaths like lifestock. Sadly they are regarded the same way. In Australia there has just been a massive campaign to stop all live export but a corner of that export should be banned too namely the export of racing greyhounds to Macau China and Korea and other Asian countries known for their blatant cruelty towards dogs.Greyhounds live for a long time they are a very healthy breed without genetic defects. They are wonderful companions and family members who certainly deserve better. So please let us shout from the rooftops the world over "Ban greyhound racing not greyhounds"Let us join a worldwide chouros of voices who speak up for these neglected sight hounds. Let them not die in wain on those confounded tracks. Let them live as they deserve let them be treated with the same care and decency as other breeds of dog. Let them get a second chance instead of cruel too early death let them become older than just 3-5 years before they are killed of as useless. Give the "Free to Good home Greyhounds" a chance for life when they become free to good home it is their last chance.Let a greyhound race into your heart. I did and have no regrets. I am loved for who I am by my greyhounds and whippet I could not ask for more they are the love of my life.
